Papers of a University of Wisconsin-Madison professor of geography relating to his research interest in Nova Scotia. The papers include a typescript journal of the travels of the British frigate Arethusa (1771-1773), transcripts of the Minutes of His Majesty's Council of Nova Scotia (1757-1825), a manuscript pertaining to Nova Scotia fishing rights, Titus Smith's travel diaries from his tours of Nova Scotia (1801-1802) along with three accompanying maps of his route, and photographs of Kentville, Digby, Wolfville, and Bear River, Nova Scotia.
